Broker's Comments
This Tanton 43 is quite a rare find here in the UK. She has a round canoe styled stern and a slightly unusual but exciting looking design. The sail area is divided almost equally between the mainsail and mizzen; both of these are set on freestanding carbon-fibre masts with wishbone Aluminium booms. Handling the sails, therefore, should never be overwhelming, even when sailing shorthanded. Tacking Should require little more than a turn of the wheel.
The absence of standing rigging allows the boat to sail wing to wing and of course from a maintenance point of view should help to keep maintenance costs to a minimum.
High lifelines and 4-inch bulwarks surround the deck. With its long, wide seats and built-in table, the large cockpit provides additional living space.
Down below what strikes you is the depth and quality of the woodwork. She has a very large roomy feel to her and I would be at home spending time sailing around the coastline or just as much at home on long blue water passages. She has a real feeling of depth and quality about her.
She was also re-engined in 2007 with a Beta Marine engine and the owner informs me that the engine has done very low hours since being installed.
This vessel has two large cabins, a very large saloon galley area and with her clever design gives her a total of seven berths. She has all the comforts of home fitted out with two large heads, complete with showers. She has a large galley complete with oven, 3 ring burner hob, microwave and a deep chest style refrigerator and freezer. She even built in air conditioning!
