Boarding is easiest via a short dock step, midships port side. The dock step will transfer with the boat. There are two sliding companionway doors, one located at the lower helm, the other midships directly to the salon area.
The bow is wide and safe for deploying and retrieving the anchor with the electric windlass. The samson post seems to be relatively new and well seated through the anchor locker to the hull. The elevated area on the foredeck could be a beautiful spot to enjoy a book while at anchor.
The flybridge is accessed from the aft deck. It has a spacious deck area for additional chairs and small table. The helm station is positioned on the starboard side; bench seating faces forward and aft with storage beneath. The propane tanks are stored forward under the flybridge helm station. The wooden mast (which appears to be original) has been detached as the boat is in covered moorage but is available to the new owners.
The dinghy is suspended over the swim platform on an electric davit system.
Entering the main cabin area via the port sliding door, the aft cabin is down just a few steps. The queen bed is offset to port, hanging locker and two desks/vanities are all built in to maximize space. There is storage underneath the bed as well as drawer space. The head is quite nice for a boat of this age. Amenities include: fresh-water electric flush Tecma toilet, a deep tub/shower, and pullout sink.
The salon, galley and lower helm station comprise the main cabin area. The L-settee is starboard with loads of storage underneath. Just forward are two large cabinets and the lower helm station. The linear galley is portside with an undercounter fridge/freezer (12v/120), microwave, sink with manual raw water pump as well as pressurized hot/cold water, a four-burner propane stove/oven and drawer and storage space.
Forward is the second stateroom and head. It has a separated v-berth, large hanging locker, drawer and storage space under the v-berth. The spare anchor and rode is found under the berth. The head has a manual raw water flush toilet, a pullout sink and shower head.
The interior is in very good condition throughout. The floors, upholstery, walls and headlining are all very clean. The window coverings are metal shades and there are exterior window coverings to protect against inclement weather as well. Cabin heating is supplied by an Espar diesel furnace.
The walk around decks have been painted and sealed with non-skid paint; there appear to be a few spots where the paint has peeled but there was no evidence of water intrusion reported in the survey. The brightwork is in very good condition with only a few minor areas which may need attention to protect.
I am very impressed with the condition of this boat for its age.

VIRTUAL TOUR - VIDEO - 100+ PHOTOS - FULL SPECS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS 1978 ALBIN 36 AFT CABIN TRAWLER.
This Albin 36 is a beautiful classic, appears to be incredibly well maintained, and has been fortunate to be kept in covered moorage (which is available and transferrable!).
The current owner purchased the boat in October 2020 completed upgrades to the electrical system, added new Simrad navigation and a depth sounder, serviced the transmission with new seals, fluid and damper plate, and added a 90amp alternator. The bottom was painted, propeller was trued, and the cutlass bearing and shaft seal were replaced.
In 2018, the previous owner replaced the house and start batteries with AGM’s, new battery charger, and Smart Plug electrical inlet. They also added a fresh water flush Tecma toilet and new holding tank.
The current owner has purchased a new boat and is ready to sell. She is beautiful, turnkey and prepared for her new owners!
